2024 is coming, it's time to send New Year's wishes and some small gifts to friends. After thinking about it, it's better to make something myself that is more thoughtful.
I'm not good at fancy handcrafts, so I decided to make a small hanging decoration by cutting a board. I chose the popular ceramic filament that was popular before, it has stable brightness and high appearance value, making it perfect for making a small hanging lamp.
Referencing AmamiyaYukoDesu's "Infinitely Dimmable Night Light" on the LCSC Open Source Platform, I redesigned the top silk screen and adjusted the package size of some components, and now I can purchase the components and make the board! 😗
The touch-sensitive part in the center is inspired by Maimai's IP. The phrase "A light heart lives long" on the top is from Shakespeare.
Here is a family photo of all the items that have arrived, including the free PCB board from Jia Lichuang for trial production.
To save money, I didn't use Jia Lichuang's SMT service, and instead manually applied solder paste and placed the components.
Then I used a 220V 400W heating platform I bought on Taobao for 9.9 yuan to heat it up, and the components automatically aligned! I bought the wrong USB-C connector, I bought a straight plug instead of a through-hole one, so I had to apply a blob of solder on both ends to ensure structural strength. 🤣 I haven't chosen the battery yet, so I won't install it for now.
Finally, the protagonist is here! Ceramic filament! I picked up the soldering iron and used Snow Horse's T12 soldering station, 99% lead-free solder wire + lead-free solder paste, working at 310°C. After soldering, I filled the PCB groove with silicone sealant to protect the filament. I screwed three copper pillars into the holes and waited for the arrival of the acrylic panel for installation!
Finally, let's see what it looks like when powered on!
